Mixed Media Female Torso Necklace | Engineered Fragility
Engineered Fragility is a mixed-media sculptural exploration of the tension between strength and vulnerability. Crafted from a blend of sterling silver, copper, bronze, leather, and steel, this piece juxtaposes industrial materials with organic form to reflect the delicate balance of human resilience. Fragmented and partially formed, the piece embodies both the weight of emotional structure and the quiet persistence of growth. Textures clash and harmonize, revealing a raw, tactile narrative of endurance and transformation.
This one-of-a-kind artwork invites contemplation of the constructs we build around ourselves—and the beauty found in their inevitable fracture.

HOW THIS PIECE WAS CREATED
This piece was created by sculpting, making a mold and casting. The lost wax casting technique was used to transform the torso into a sterling silver piece. Copper was formed and sodered to create the vines.
